Corcovado (Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars) - Jobim
It is my goal to, eventually, have all of Antonio Carlos Jobim's greatest songs covered for solo fingerstyle guitar. Already on my YouTube channel I have at least 10 such songs that I posted.
..As far as I can remember, including Wave, One Note Samba, Agua De Beber and many more, check them out. I'd like to mention (again) that I am no bossa expert and that backbeat is just something I do, I know it's not "authenic" to the style. For the guitarists who may be interested, I make extensive use of the open high E string by incorporating it into the melody whenever I can (or remember to). Please "like", share, comment, and above all, enjoy!
"Corcovado" (known in English as "Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars") is a bossa nova song written by Antônio Carlos Jobim in 1960. An English lyric was later written by Gene Lees. The Portuguese title refers to the Corcovado mountain in Rio de Janeiro. Andy Williams recorded the song with English lyrics, reaching #92 in the Billboard Hot 100 and #18 in the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart in 1965.
